Workshop Schedule
We will meet at Stornoway, in the Outer Hebrides, on the morning of the arrival date. From there, we will head straight to our wonderful accommodation where we will stay for the duration of the adventure.
From arrival to the day of departure, we will chase the light of sunrises and sunsets in front of the most beautiful locations of the Outer Hebrides, including Butt of Lewis Lighthouse, Luskentyre Beach, Mangersta cliffs, and many many more..
Between sunrise and sunset, theory, post-production and relax in great company!
Every day we’ll define the best shooting location according to the weather and you’ll be an active part of this planning process to let you develop your photographic skills and location management, essential skills for a landscape photographer.
The small size of the group will let you have the possibility to discuss during your shooting with the teachers at every moment to maximize the learning experience!
On the last day we’ll head back to Stornoway where we’ll arrive in the late morning. For this reason, the return trip should be planned from the afternoon of Saturday the 17th. Fore more info, please check “How to reach Outer Hebrides” section of this page.

Additional informations
If you have any symptoms or are positive for Covid-19 please let us know and consider if it is worth travelling.
In general, we suggest you to take into consideration the subscription of a Travel Insurance. This is your responsibility in any case.
The accommodation is included and in a single occupancy room in a typical local house close to our shooting locations. This will let us not only be in the real heart of Outer Hebrides for all our shooting activities, but it will let us enjoy our relaxing time surrounded by traditions and charm.
Beverages and food (including breakfast, lunch and dinner) are not included.
The reason for this is that we will be hunting for the best light conditions each day and will, therefore often rely on restaurants, bistros and cafés along the coast to optimize planning and timing. Our accommodation will also allow us to spend time together cooking!
This course takes place purposely in August where the days are particularly long. We will have the opportunity to rest during the day, but this also involves waking up early in the morning and returning late in the evening to really make the most of the light and weather situations. There will be walks to reach the shooting locations. This is the small price to pay to enjoy the unspoilt paradise of the Outer Hebrides 😉
If you have any limitations or doubts please just ask so we can explain you better every detail!
This Workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced photographers. It is suggested a good knowledge of the camera and the basics relating to the use of shutter speeds and apertures. Post-production is done through simple development software such as Adobe Lightroom
The following equipment is suggested:
- Mirrorless or Digital SLR camera (or/and a professional Film camera if you wish!)
- Wide-angle lens
- Tripod
- Remote shutter
- Photographic filters
Thanks to my sponsors I will be able to provide photographic filters and tripods. For any questions, do not hesitate to contact us via email!
The Workshop is deliberately planned in a season with a significant meteorological instability to have a greater possibility of having interesting light conditions. Unfortunately we can not control the weather, but we can adapt to it. In case of heavy rain, the course will be held in any case giving more emphasis to the post-production and class theory.
The Outer Hebrides have remained an unspoilt paradise also because they are a remote location. The best way to reach them is by plane to Stornoway. There are flights on a daily basis from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Manchester, so don’t worry!
An alternative is to reach Stornoway by a more adventurous ferry trip: in this case, there are daily departures from the town of Ullapool.
Whichever way you want to get there, we will give you full support in planning your trip in order to arrive on time!
In order to confirm the reservation, a deposit of 30% is required. The balance is required 90 days before the Workshop date.
If you cancel and the Workshop is otherwise filled, we will refund you the full amount you paid for the tuition, minus a 300€ service charge. If you cancel and the Workshop does not fill, then you will be refunded according to the following schedule, based on the full fee of the Workshop:
- Within 60 days from the date of the workshop: penalty of 50% of the course fee
- From 29 days to the date of the Workshop: 100% penalty of the course fee
The deposit is not refundable as used for reserving essential services like transports and accommodation.
