The Pool

"The Pool" comes from Hook Head Lighthouse, at the tip of the Hook Peninsula in County Wexford, Ireland: a sunset seascape made with a long exposure and printed as a signed fine art print.

Small on the right, the black and white tower stands under heavy grey clouds that the exposure has pulled into long streaks. In front of the camera a round basin in the flat rocks fills with water, turned into soft white milk, while the sea beyond stays silver and still. That pool gives the picture its name and leads the eye straight to the lighthouse.
