The photograph
"Pure" looks across a calm Arctic bay in the Lofoten Islands, Norway, at sunrise, while a snow storm moves in over the mountains. It is a long exposure seascape, printed as a signed fine art print.
A thin border of snow lines the beach in the foreground, and the water beyond is so still it looks like pale blue glass. On the right the storm falls like a dark curtain, while on the left the sky is still open. I love how a long exposure can make a wild place feel this calm, keeping only the essential lines of the landscape.
