The photograph
"Oltremare", Italian for "beyond the sea", is a long exposure seascape of Neist Point Lighthouse on the westernmost tip of the Isle of Skye, Scotland, printed as a signed fine art print.
In Italian the same word also names ultramarine, the deep blue that fills most of this picture. Green cliffs lead toward the small white lighthouse, the sea has become a still surface broken only by a few rocks, and pink clouds stream away from the horizon toward distant islands. For me a long exposure is a small parallel world, far from the frenzy of modern life.
