The photograph
"Midgard" faces the snowy mountains around Vareid, in the Lofoten Islands of Norway, at sunset in winter. It is a long exposure seascape, printed as a signed fine art print.
Two groups of peaks rise on either side of the frame, with orange clouds glowing between them. The long exposure calms the sea into a smooth surface that mirrors the warm light, and near the snowy rocks a patch of turquoise water shows through the mist. In Norse myth Midgard is the world of humans, and on winter evenings like this it feels close to its edge.
