The photograph
"Evanescence" is a long exposure seascape of Monte Cofano, on the northwest coast of Sicily, photographed at sunset and printed as a signed fine art print.
The mountain stands dark against a sky streaked with orange and violet. In front of it the sea has turned into a white mist that flows between the sharp limestone rocks, because a long exposure erases every single wave and leaves only their movement. Long exposures are my way to slow the sea down, and this is one of the quietest images I have made in Sicily.
